At Velotura, it all started with two neighbors, two bikes, and one shared passion. One morning in Split, Croatia—helmets strapped, shoes clipped, wheels spinning—Miha and Rickard crossed paths in a parking garage, each ready to head out for a solo ride. They didn’t know each other yet, but something clicked. That spontaneous meeting turned into a ride, then many more. Over climbs, descents, island loops, and coffee breaks, a friendship formed—and so did the foundation of Velotura.
What started as a shared ride became Velotura—a reflection of our belief that real connection to a place comes through motion, effort, and discovery.
We created Velotura to share the simple yet profound joy of cycling through nature, of pushing yourself under the sun, and of discovering new places from the saddle.
Velotura was born from the idea that cycling should be more than just training—it should be a lifestyle, an experience, and a way to connect. We offer cycling journeys that reflect everything we love about this region: the stunning coastal roads, the island serenity, the local food and wine, the Mediterranean pace of life, and of course, the joy of the ride.
Our camps and tailor-made tours are designed for those who love cycling as much as we do—whether you’re here to train, to unwind, or simply to feel the sun on your back and the wind in your face. We’ve spent years exploring these roads and hidden routes, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
The name Velotura itself is a fusion of two worlds: “Velo”, rooted in international cycling terminology, and “Tura”, from the Croatian word for a journey or tour — especially one made by bike. Together, Velotura means more than just cycling — it evokes the experience of exploration, movement, and flow. It’s a name that rides with purpose, grounded in culture yet made for a global road
Rickard hails from Sweden, though he grew up across the border in Norway and later lived in Germany before traveling the world. Like many Scandinavians, sport was a natural part of his childhood—running on skis, competing in triathlons, marathons, and more. But it was always the bike that pulled him back in. For Rickard, cycling represents freedom: the chance to explore at your own pace, to connect with a place through your own power, and to turn every ride into a mini-adventure. He now calls Split home, where he’s found the perfect blend of nature, culture, and year-round riding weather.
Miha, originally from Slovenia—a nation that breathes cycling—grew up with a deep love for sport. As a kid, he played everything, but cycling and basketball always came first. His life path eventually brought him to Split, a city he fell for hard. For the past five years, he’s called it home. Off the bike, he’s a DJ and electronic music producer, someone who knows how to find rhythm—whether in a track or in the perfect tempo of a coastal ride. For Miha, cycling isn’t just exercise—it’s escape, meditation, and joy. A chance to break routine, clear the mind, and take in the sea air from the quiet curves of a cliffside road.
